The sun is setting on 2012. Thanks for sharing it with me, for reading the blog and stumbling along with me through this tough and rather unpredictable year. Here are some words I’ve been thinking a lot about:
“Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.” -Pema Chödrön
Happy new year. I hope you have a lovely evening, and be safe.
Thank you, Kiell. Good words for the end of a tumultuous year for us. I think of you so often ( not evidenced by my calls, texts and emails)!
I can only continue to say – as the old hs English teacher and one who loves good writing – you are good! What you have written from Antarctica and since you’ve been back should be published.
I wish and pray for you a new year full of adventure and experiencing a place of comfort, a year of exploring and finding, and joy in your life and the lives you touch.
It was wonderful to have your mother here with us for a few days. I hope you are spending time with your grandmother. She needs your presence and your love.
Jan
Thanks, Auntie Jan.
Ekart Tolle mentions the cycles in life. Similar to Pema.
Kip
Thanks Kip, I’ll have to look him up!
Life is paradox. Miss you. Dave
I miss you too.
That is a wonderful quote, I love it. So wise.
