About

My name is Kiell, and I’m a 30something lady from the Midwest. I’ve spent the last few years traveling, first quitting my “real” job to make a round-the-world journey and later doing a few seasons of contract work for the US Antarctic Program. Now I live in the Twin Cities, and I love it here.

  1. What kind of boots did you wear in antarctica? I used to wear Sorels on the arctic north slope working seismic. I wasn’t crazy about bunny boots. Nice blog!

    1. Hey John! The issue boots they give us are called Bunny Boots, which are armed forces extreme cold weather boots from the Korean War era. I wear Steger Mukluks most of the time though!
